Stool
This project arose out of an assignment to design and manufacture a metal stool. After experimenting with various ways of connecting pieces of metal, I worked with a system of attaching pieces through integrally milled rivets that allowed me to connect metal profiles at right angles to one another. Based on this connection system, I came up with a design for a stool inspired by Southeast Asian woodworking techniques. This created a light-weight yet durable stool consisting entirely out of flat aluminum profiles that can be laser cut and assembled with basic hand tools.
